Marton Childcare – CENTRE INFORMATION

‘IT TAKES A VILLAGE TO RAISE A CHILD. A CHILD HAS THE ABILITY TO BECOME A HEALTHY ADULT IF THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY TAKES AN ACTIVE ROLE IN CONTRIBUTING TO THE REARING OF THE CHILD.’

Our Marton Childcare Centre was established in 2012 and is a privately owned childcare Centre providing excellent services in the care and education of all children from birth to 6 years of age, in a large purpose built building. Our Marton childcare centre is committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and wonderfully enriching environment in which to foster your child’s emotional, social, intellectual and physical development.
All our teachers are fully qualified and with the support staff, they create a friendly environment where your child will enjoy fun interactions with other children in childcare and will love their learning experiences each day.

Our Marton childcare centre is divided into two separate areas. The Nursery caters for children from birth to two years and the Over Two area caters for children from two to six year olds. This enables the various age groups of children to play safely and learn according to their emotional and educational needs, interests and activity levels.
Both the Nursery and the Over Two areas have large indoor and outdoor spaces where children are well supervised while engaged in fun learning experiences.

Our Vision
Our Centre is committed to implementing the Virtues (Virtues Project Inc. 2004) programme to nurture the development of children’s character. Through role modelling and explicit teaching, staff will actively foster the development of citizens who will contribute to a safe and caring community.
We have eight encompassing values that reflects our centre philosophy. These include:
Trust, Respect, Inclusiveness, Tolerance, Creativity, Excellence, Co-operation and Aroha
These values, constitute our center’s com emphasis with the virtues programme.
We have identified twelve additional priority values which support the eight core values.
These twelve values are key to children’s social, emotional, moral, cognitive and physical development. They include: Courtesy, Responsibility, Friendliness, Self discipline, Gentleness, Service, Helpfulness, Thankfulness, Kindness, Truthfulness, Perseverance, Unity.
Our Philosophy
We believe that children are unique individuals who learn and grow best in a secure, nurturing and stimulating environment. Fostering a sense of trust, belonging, respect for self and others, curiosity and meaningful relationships, enables children to learn and grow. Our centre is responsive to and respectful of the individual needs of each child as we
support them to develop these life skills.
Our centre educational programme recognises and embraces cultural values, supported by parent/whānau and community involvement. Embracing this partnership approach, our centre will support the social and emotional competencies, physical, and intellectual learning and development
of each child.
