At All About Children Sylvia Park we understand that every child develops at their own pace, and as early educators, we adapt our educational programmes accordingly to provide individualised support. Our aim is to create a nurturing and stimulating environment that fosters growth and development in every child entrusted to our care.
We understand that all children develop at different ages and stages, so our learning areas are defined through the developmental capabilities of the children within it. The centre has four programme areas – Owlets (0-18 months), Pukekos (18 months – 3 years), Keas (3-4 years) and Fantails (4-5 years) based on the distinct need of each age group.
Owlets (0-18 months)
Snuggles, smiles, and milestones — our infant programme is designed for your baby’s first big adventures.
Through primary caregiving we ensure an authentic bond between your child and their carer. We recognise each child as an individual and cater to their unique needs yet make each day exciting through varied learning experiences. The Owlets room is a home away from home for your precious tamariki to thrive in and find a place where they belong.
Pukekos (18 months – 3 years)
From curious explorers to confident achievers, this is the age where first friendships develop and a sense of self strengthens.
In this room, we strive to provide an environment where your children feel empowered and encouraged to explore within a safe and challenging environment. Recognising that this is also the age your toddler steps ever-so-lightly towards school readiness and their thirst for questions intensifies, a gentle introduction to more structured learning is made without stepping away from our ethos of child-led learning opportunities. Encouraging resilience, problem solving and self-help skills are encouraged to help them become more confident.
Keas (3 – 4 years)
A time in childhood to celebrate freedom, imagination and first friendships, as your little one tip toes towards starting school.
Collaborating with the children, learning opportunities are created with just the right amount of challenge and generous amounts of imagination and creativity. Emphasis is laid on life skills, building relationships ad making positive decisions.
Our daily routine consists of planned experiences as well as spontaneous free play. We enjoy going on excursions and having people and experiences from our community come in to support our rooms interests to give them the best possible learning outcomes.
Fantails (4-5 years)
Such a special time that can never be recreated. Never again will a time so full of wonderment and freedom exist. In their final years of pre-school, we believe children should enjoy the pure delight of being children, carefully woven in with school-readiness.
This stage is about developing confidence and competence through play, observation and exploration. Emphasis is on essential social skills, independence, empathy, initiative and responsibility. Art and expression, friendship and independence, an introduction to early numeracy and literacy through Transition to School programme, our Fantails Room is the perfect stop on the way to your little one’s final destination of conventional schooling.
