Extending home learning

We recognise parents/guardians are the first teachers. While building on their home taught foundations, educators embrace being second teachers. Parents involvement is actively sought through participation in childcare activities.

To ensure that we capture every child’s learning journey, we maintain portfolios that document individual and small group experiences. These portfolios are updated regularly by educators and can be accessed by families at any time. This allows families to see their child’s progress, interests, and achievements, and collaborate with Educators to support their child’s development.

Emphasis on nutrition

We take a healthy start to life seriously. Early Childhood years are critical to setting the foundation for healthy eating and choices throughout the rest of your child’s life. Whether your child is in the nursery and discovering first foods; or a toddler or pre-schooler and starting to discover taste preferences, we provide healthy, balanced and seasonal menus designed to provide an essential nutritional platform from which your child can grow. Our menus are made fresh by our in-house cooks.

School readiness programme

The last year at All About Children is spent getting your child ready for school, i.e. ability to persevere when faced with unfamiliar and challenging learning situations. These skills are essential for a child’s successful transition to school.

Our school readiness programme covers strengthening mental and physical wellbeing, self-regulating emotions and behaviour, honing cognitive skills, supporting communication and a positive learning attitude, becoming independent and improving literacy and numeracy skills.

Respect for diversity

Children who respect diversity are inclusive. Inclusive attitudes are essential for children’s equitable relationships with others regardless of race, gender, culture or religious beliefs. Inclusive attitudes enable children to interact respectfully and empathetically.
